 Take a Rain Check


Hi guysss....😍😍

        Today's  English expression is "take a rain check". Pweuhhhh....I think I have to take a rain check my friend's invitation to come to her party because of this blog. Oke guyss... "take a rain check" is used to tell someone that you cannot accept an invitation now, but that you would like to accept it at a later time. It has the same meaning as "postpone", but if you use the expression "postpone" it's  much more formal than expression "take a rain check." Even though it's an idiom but this expression is quite formal and usually used by native speakers.


Now look at the dialogue between two friends talking about the party and look closely for the expression "take a rain check" !! 😋😋


Agisni    : "So, I'm thinking about having a party this Sunday, can you make it?

Rara       : "Sorry, but I'll have to take a rain check this Sunday. I've already got plans, would next weekend work for you?"

Agisni    : "That should be fine, I'll start planning for it."

Rara       : "Thank you then."

        So, remember that we use "take a rain check" when we have to refuse an invitation, but would like to accept that invitation later or sometime in the future. As I've told you that this expression has the same meaning with the expression "postpone" but "take a rain check" is much more casual.


        Oke guyss... I hope you can use this expression correctly in your daily life, try to use it the next time you have to postpone something.

Off the hook : Daily English Expression

 Off the Hook Hellowelowelowelowelooo............ Okeyy guysss.... It's now our time for our daily expression. If you guys see someone weeping on their own or looking terribly upset, which choice of words would help them feel better..???  If you see someone  weeping on their own or looking terribly,  soothe them by gently  asking, "Are you alright?" It shows that you care about them and offers a lot of comfort. This expression is very common used in our daily life to express our care.  Another expression that'll come in handy in your life is "Off the hook." Simply put,  "off the hook" means you are freed or have escaped from a difficult position.
